Some Unusual Players Get Into Fighting Human Trafficking

  Transitions Global's co-founder James Pond
returns to the show to give us an update on the T.G. upcoming projects, progress, and more. In case you missed our first discussion with James on episode #10, he and his wife Athena created Transitions Global in order to provide comprehensive, restorative aftercare for girls rescued from sex trafficking.

Each girl at Transitions receives personalized care to heal from her past and provide opportunities for her future. A girl who finds her home at Transitions finds a new beginning. As stated on the non-proft organization's website, each young lady finds hope, and with holistic trauma therapy, life skills and sustainable career training, she finds a dream for her future.

During this week's Live Life Aggressively podcast, James joins Mike & Sincere to discuss:

Part One:
  • Transition Global's latest work researching sex trafficking in the U.S., in particular, in the Oakland/San Francisco Bay area
  • Some of the various scenarios in which sex trafficking is growing in the U.S., right under our nose
  • What we can do to help curb underage sex trafficking in their local areas
  • Why more and more petty criminals are getting busted
  • The difference between pre-internet teenagers and the teenagers of today and how those differences play a part in how we must communicate with them now
  • How the level of access to information via technology can be more of a stressor than a resource
  • What companies such as MTV tell today's kids about success
  • What we can learn about leadership from Star Trek's Captain Kirk &how this turned Mike into a momentary Trekkie.
  • James & Sincere share some their parenting experiences and how those experiences have helped their children
  • How avenues containing positive mentors for our children are under attack and what we can do to turn that around
  • At what time did Mike have dread locs and listen to Public Enemy, while Sincere had a spike and listened to heavy metal, aka "Adventures in Bizarro Land
  • James shares some of the success stories of some of the young ladies that have transitioned from being a victim of sex trafficking to becoming business owners
